My name is Ali. I am in 8th grade at Baker Middle School in Troy MI. I am part of the Baker Dynamics 17155 Robotics Team. I am part of the coding/programming and social media teams. This is my first time working on the Robotic Team. However, I do have a small amount of previous experience with coding. I joined the Robotics team because I have an interest in coding and building. Also, my grandfather and older brother are engineers. In the future I want to be a doctor with a specialization in robotic procedures.

Hi, my name is Saaya Shrikant, I’m a 7th grader at Baker Middle School. I’m a part of the Baker Dynamics 17155 Robotics Team, specifically the build team. This is my first time being a part of the baker robotics team. I’ve had previous experience working with robots and challenges of the sort individually on a smaller scale however, I joined robotics because I wanted to see how I could work with a team and learn more through the process of building a robot suitable for our challenge and challenge myself as well through trying new things.
I am Vaibhav an 8th grader from Baker Middle School. I am a member of Baker Dynamics (Team 17155) robotics team.I am part of build team specifically involved in the intake mechanism .Before starting this project I have no idea of how to build or design robot. Now I have gained knowledge to design the parts of a robot and to improve the design based on the functional performance of the robot.
Brandon – Programming Coach
I am a senior software developer with over 24 years professional experience. My son has showed a lot of interest in STEM over the years, so we have participated in various activities like Science Olympiad. I really believe in the value these programs provide, and the benefits provided to the kids are long lasting. My job as the programming coach for the 2021 17155 team is to help guide the kids along a path and help them through any roadblocks they encounter. I have a strong belief that its important kids need to experience failures and setbacks in order to grow and learn.
Ramesh – Build Coach
I am a software developer by profession with 14+ years of experience. I have been interested in designing and programming since my childhood.
I have designed and developed several safety related circuits and published in EFY back in India when I was studying for my graduation. I have participated and coach the kids for science Olympiad in 2019-2020, My son showed a lot of interest in making and doing small projects at home. My experience and My son’s interest triggered me to be involved in robotics. This is my first year coaching build team and lot of experience gathered and definitely this will be the next generation skills that students can learn, inherit and apply to their challenging world.
Siva B – Build team: Parent mentor
I’m a software engineer. My son participated in a couple of Science Olympiad events and I’d helped the kids on the same. We wanted to try something different to have fun and learn apart from the academics, which triggered us to join robotics. This is my first year in robotics. I strongly feel that this program will help the kids to grow and expand their skills in multiple areas and build the road for their bright future.
Suresh Palaniyandi- Mentor 1:
I’m a Professor and Cardiac Researcher by profession. I’m interested in helping kids to learn STEM activities. This is my second time being a parent mentor for the FTC robotics. I have coached kids for Science Olympiad as well. In the role of Mentor-1, I do overall planning and facilitating our team’s activities. I delegate tasks to other team members and make sure all the training, building/coding, practice, business/outreach activities and integration are happening. Besides, I’m in charge of administration, communication, ordering and finance.
Vijay Gajjala – Mentor 2:
I am working as a database administrator in Info Tech and have an academic background in Industrial Eng.
I like to work with kids to assist them in exhibiting their skills and talent, which will be building blocks for their future career. And also helped my kids to participate and succeed in their science projects.
For the first time I am working in our team as a mentor to assist and coordinate all activities of our team members.
